The Pressure-Induced Structural Phase Transition in LaCo0.5Mn0.5O3 Manganite
The structural and vibrational properties of LaCo0.5Mn0.5O3 cation-disordered manganite have been studied using X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy at pressures up to P = 25 GPa. The application of high pressures above P ~5 GPa leads to a gradual structural phase transition from an orthorhombic crystal structure with Pnma symmetry to Imma one, accompanied by anomalies in the behaviour of lattice parameters, unit cell volumes, and some Raman modes under pressure. Pressure dependencies of structural parameters and frequencies of Raman modes for the observed phases of the LaCo0.5Mn0.5O3 manganese oxide were obtained. For each phase, the Birch-Murnaghan equation was solved.
