Abstract

COP (Conference of the Parties) - The Conference of the Parties is considered the highest legislative body of the United Nations, overseeing the implementation of the Framework Convention on Climate Change. The first event of this organization took place in Berlin in 1995. At the COP 28 plenary meeting, held on 11 December, 2023 in Dubai, it was decided to hold the 29th session in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. In the article, the authors consider a number of measures implemented by the Azerbaijani state in order to prevent dangerous human interference in the climate system and refer to the provisions of adopted legislative acts in this area. In order to ensure the protection of the natural environment, the article also reflects the main directions for the creation of “Green energy” zones.
