An Assessment of the Architectural Solutions in Houses Constructed in the Scope of Sustainable Design
The rise of population in urban areas results in intense housing and rapid resource usage, which destroys the ecosystem and increases the rate of environmental destruction. Moreover, cities become more vulnerable as a result of this population rise. Accordingly, sustainable cities should be planned to prevent such vulnerability and environmental destruction. Formation of solutions that are environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, climatically compatible and water-saving supports the sustainability principles. This study aimed to assess the projects generated in the scope of sustainable design while considering the relevant principles of this design approach collected following the literature review. The projects within this study had various architectural solutions and plans in the context of design principles. Moreover, this study compiled different plans about sustainable design concepts and it will serve as an exemplary effort for future planning approaches since it will significantly contribute to the literature.
