Analysis of Solid Waste Generated in Metallurgical Enterprises with Modern XRF Technology
Like other branches of the metallurgical industry, the secondary steel smelting industry is also one of the sources of environmental pollution. Therefore, determining the composition of each solid waste received at the Baku Steel Smelting Plant is one of the most important ecologically relevant topics. In the direction of solving such a problem, first of all, determining the composition of each of these solid wastes with modern devices and conducting ecological assessment can be considered as the most important ecological studies. For the first time, we have analyzed the composition of solid wastes - slags taken from that enterprise using modern X-ray fluorescence S8 TIGER spectrometer and difractometer D4 ENDEAVOR devices. Methods for preparing samples for X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) of solid slag waste formed at the Baku Steel Smelting Plant, as well as the justification for assessing the ecological impact of solid wastes on the environment, taking into account their effects on human health, were determined based on the results of their composition.
