The development of modern society is determined not only by economic growth and technological progress but also by the quality of social relations, interpersonal trust, mutual respect, social responsibility, tolerance and social solidarity. From this perspective, social culture can be understood as a system of values, behavioural norms, communication patterns, social responsibilities and collective experiences formed within social relations. This article examines the theoretical foundations of social culture and analyses the role of national and moral values in shaping social behaviour within Azerbaijani society. Particular attention is paid to the role of family, education, language, religion, literature, folklore, art, media and other social institutions in the development and transmission of social culture. The article also examines the influence of globalization, digitalization, social media and new forms of communication on social culture. The study argues that social culture is not a static phenomenon. It is a dynamic system that changes in response to historical development, social transformation and new forms of communication. Therefore, preservation of national and moral values should not be understood merely as maintaining inherited traditions. Rather, these values need to be transmitted to younger generations and adapted to contemporary social conditions. The article concludes that the sustainable development of social culture requires a balance between the preservation of national identity and openness to universal human values, technological change and intercultural dialogue.
