Advancing Quality Control: New Two-Sided Chain Sampling Plans for Exponential Distribution
In today’s competitive manufacturing landscape, ensuring consistent product quality is paramount. However, existing acceptance sampling plans often face a critical challenge: effectively balancing the inherent risks for both producers (mistakenly rejecting good products) and consumers (mistakenly accepting poor products). This imbalance can lead to inefficiencies and compromised quality. To address this, this paper introduces new two-sided chain sampling plans (NTSChSP-1), specifically designed for products whose lifetimes follow an exponential distribution. Our primary objective is to solve the imbalance by developing a plan that minimizes consumer’s risk while simultaneously optimizing the overall efficiency of the sampling plan. Through rigorous methodology, our findings demonstrate that NTSChSP-1 significantly reduces the required sample size when compared to existing, more stringent plans such as two-sided complete chain sampling plans (TSCChSP-1). Furthermore, NTSChSP-1 consistently achieves a higher probability of lot acceptance genuinely good lots across various quality levels. This performance highlights its effectiveness in maintaining quality standards without imposing unnecessary rejections, offering a balanced and practical solution. Consequently, NTSChSP-1 emerges as a more practical choice for modern quality control applications, ensuring both producer fairness and consumer protection.
